เมื่อเลี้ยวกิโลเมตรที่ 26 จะพบป้ายบอกทางไปนาขั้นบันไดแม่กลางหลวง ขับไปตามเส้นทางก็จะพบกับผืนนาสีเขียว และบ้านที่ตั้งอยู่บนเนินเขา ให้อารมณ์เหมือนอยู่ยุโรป

สำหรับใครที่ชอบเดินป่า หรือสัมผัสวิถีชีวิตชุมชน ก็สามารถจ้างไกด์นำทางได้ โดยราคาก็จะอยู่ที่ประมาณ 250 บาท ซึ่งก็จะได้ลองชิมกาแฟแบบโบราณชนิดที่คั่วและชงกับมือ หรือแบบกะลาที่ต้มด้วยฟืนและกาตามวิธีโบราณ

หรือว่าจะเลือกดูงานสาน ถัก ทอผ้าแบบพื้นถิ่นก็เลือกได้ตามความชอบ ถ้าเกิดอยากซึมซับบรรยากาศอย่างเต็มอิ่ม ที่นี่ก็มีที่พักกลางทุ่งนาสำหรับค้างคืน แถมยังมีหมูกระทะให้ได้ทานกันท่ามกลางลมเย็นๆ นับเป็นการเดินทางมาพักผ่อนที่สมบูรณ์แบบ

Hiking at Ban Mae Klang Luang

Escape from the bustling city and heading up to Ban Mae Klang Luang, an ideal place to spend quality time and get relaxation. It is located at somewhere around the 26th kilometre on the way up to Doi Inthanon.

Mae Klang Luang is a Karen village inhabited by S’gaw people, an ethnic group. This village is a peaceful one with relaxing the rice terraces environments around.

Visitors get to learn about Thai agriculture and local's way of life. Just follow a local guide to visit local coffee making which appears as a rustic wooden pavilion. Its coffee is fresh and served by using the ancient way by boiling firewood. You can drink there, take home, or purchase as a souvenir.

Visitors can also learn about weaving local fabric. On top of that, there are also many good shelters at Ban Mae Klang Luang, in case you want to spend some nights.
